Dima Orsho

Dima had B.M. in Voice & Clarinet from Damascus High Institute of Music. She studied with Rebecca Folsom, Galena Khaldieva, Shauna Beesley ,Mia Besselink & Anatoly Moratof.

Dima appeared as a soloist in the Middle East, Europe & USA on recognized stages such as the Millennium stage at the Kennedy Centre, the Opera Bastille de Paris, Théâtre de la Villethe Media Park of Colon Germany, the Library of congress and Damascus Opera House. She performed with the Osnabruck Symphony, the Morgenland Festival Orchestra, the Boston Conservatory Orchestra as well as the Syrian Symphony Orchestra and shared the stage with some phenomenal musicians like Jivan Gasparian, Aynur, Manfred Leuchter, Michel Godard & Perhat Khaliq.

 She started singing and composing for TV, Radio, Theater and Cinema since 1993.She composed and arranged music for many short films directed by young Syrian artists and one feature film “Under The Ceiling” directed by Nidal Al-Debs in 2005.

Dima is a member of “Hewar ensemble” with whom she released three albums last was in 2012, while her first solo album “Arabic Lieder” was composed by Gazwan Zerikly and released in 2008. In September 2015, Dima was invited as a guest artist to join Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble to record Kinan Azmeh's "wedding" in their new album which will be released on Sony Masterworks in 2016.
